Custom Outdoor Seating in St Kilda
St Kilda Primary School is a community oriented government school located in St Kilda. It is a vibrant, happy, colourful, energetic, evolving and engaging school and possesses fantastic outdoor areas and landscapes for both children and families to enjoy.
The City Handyman Projects team were engaged to replace an area of outdoor seating near the Dickens St entry. Works required included a minor and a major component: The minor component consisted of removal of 1 area of existing aged L-shaped seating which had become redundant and make-good of this area as required. The major component included full replacement of two sections of L-shaped seating. The new multi-level seating constructed by City Handyman was to blend in with some existing L-shaped seating which had been constructed a few years prior by another provider, as part of a previous playground area refurbishment. The addition of the two seating sections by City Handyman has created an amphitheatre style seating area for students and staff to enjoy, play and learn in, whilst also providing additional seating for parents to interact and engage at drop-off and pick-up times. Materials used were treated pine framing and 140mm x 19mm merbau decking. Boards were secured using stainless steel screws.
